🌱 CFP: A Key Indicator Under the EEE Rating Standard

🌿 What is CFP, and How Does it Relate to “Cleaner, Safer, and More Sustainable”?

To meet sustainability goals under the EEE Rating (Eat Eco Enjoy) standard, integrating a Hygiene & Safety framework into food service and hospitality businesses is critical. This approach aligns with the expectations of modern travelers seeking experiences that are cleaner, safer, and truly sustainable.

By incorporating clear indicators and operational strategies, EEE Rating works hand in hand with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It was developed through collaboration between:
✅ Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT)
✅ ThaiBio Association
✅ Mahidol University’s Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies

This partnership established a Sustainability Rating system for evaluating restaurants and food service businesses, aiming to reduce environmental impact (Environment), support local economies (Economic) and create social value (Social)

🍃 Hygiene Travel Experience x EEE Rating

The Sustainable Food & Travel Project combined with EEE Rating (Hygiene, Travel, Experience) emphasizes both sustainability (Environment, Economic, Social) and Hygiene & Safety standards. This initiative prepares the tourism and service sectors for the demands of today’s consumers, who value environmental protection, health, and high-quality service.

🎯 Long-Term Goals

✅ Upgrade restaurants, hotels, cafés, and attractions to meet EEE Rating standards.
✅ Attract more eco-conscious travelers seeking sustainable and safe experiences.
✅ Enhance brand recognition for certified businesses.

📌 Why is CFP Relevant to EEE Rating?

Carbon Footprint of Product (CFP) measures total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions throughout a product’s lifecycle (Life Cycle Assessment – LCA) such as raw material production, transportation, usage phase and end-of-life disposal.

📏 Unit: kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent (kg CO₂e)

For example, KEEEN’s F.O.G Surface Cleaner/Digester, widely accepted across industries for its quality and efficiency, has been CFP Certified at a release rate of 17.2 kg CO₂e.

This certification ensures that under the Hygiene & Safety criteria, food service and hospitality operations can maintain top hygiene standards while using environmentally friendly products. Ideally, these products should be:
🌱 Plant-derived for biodegradability
🌱 Innovative for superior cleaning performance
🌱 Cost-effective with a measurable impact on carbon reduction

🌿 EEE Rating: Hygiene, Travel & Experience

This framework combines:
✅ Cleanliness and safety standards (Green Hygiene Food Safety)
✅ Sustainable tourism practices
✅ Measurable environmental impact

🌟 Key Standards for Businesses

  • ✅ Use of high-quality Food Grade / Bio-based cleaning products
  • ✅ Hygiene management systems for kitchens and guest areas meeting international standards
  • ✅ Staff training on contamination prevention, avoiding harsh chemicals to protect worker health and the environment
  • ✅ Environmental monitoring to ensure sustainability compliance
  • ✅ Supporting the creation of “Carbon Conscious Businesses” by calculating annual carbon reduction potential
